Rory Mac Gowan, born 1972, has a Masters degree in Economics and an undergraduate degree in Honours Mathematics. He has over 10 years professional experience in analyzing structured finance and corporate securities. He has worked in various banks in Dublin since 1997, among other things, he developed corporate analysis and structured analysis.

He joined the Credit Department of a Landesbank subsidiary in 2006. There, he developed a watch list flag system for structured securities. During the banking crisis in 2007, he was involved in finding a solution to provide internal ‘fair price’ valuations to RMBS securities. This involved the use of peer group matrices as well as the construction of multiple scenarios for these securities through the use of analytical software: Intex, ABSNet and Bloomberg analytics. In addition, he has worked on providing scenario-based aggregate portfolio valuations for the bank.
